The Complete Suite of Nicola Ross’s Guide Books “Loops & Lattes” Are Now Available in Marlene Madole’s Courtyard Studio/Gallery 7
Caledon’s own Nicola Ross’s Guide Books the Loops & Lattes Routes: “Caledon Hikes”, “Halton Hikes” and the newly released “Dufferin Hikes” are available in Marlene Madole’s Glen Williams studio. The Caledon guide includes 37 loop routes including those in Terra Cotta.
Because Marlene paints on location, guide books are great resources for ideas on areas to explore. They make great for gifts for photographers, artists who seek sketching locations and painters experienced at working en plein air. The guides offer tips on what to look for along the way, as well as details on the level of difficulty, where to leave a car – with the routes circling back to those locations with using a different return route if possible, local places of interest and where to lunch.
The Halton guide, published late last year, includes 37 loop routes including those in Erin, Limehouse and Glen Williams, including the “Glen Williams Village Loop”, and “Credit Valley Footpath”. Local author Bruce Madole, Marlene Madole’s spouse, is quoted under the map for the “Erin Village Loop” as to why he hikes. Appropriately, it was on Main Street of Erin that early in his writing career that Bruce was a reporter/photographer at the Erin Advocate.
Marlene Madole’s Courtyard Studio/Gallery is open on Friday and Saturday afternoons, and by appointment.
