Marlene Madole’s Studio Open House – Celebrating 20th Year Membership in the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour

The public is invited to celebrate World Watercolour Day with Marlene Madole at her Studio/Gallery Open House at the Williams Mill on Fri. Nov. 24th and Sat. Nov. 25th with extended hours of 11am to 6pm. In celebration of Marlene Madole’s 20 years as a member of the prestigious Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC/SCPA), Marlene is offering 20% off purchases of watercolour paintings (commissions excepted). Join her for refreshments and view ephemera of her time with the CSPWC/SCPA.

“It was 20 years ago on Nov. 17th that I accepted the offer of CSPWC/SCPA membership. Elected membership is offered to those artists who have three paintings in Open Water within ten years – I earned my elected membership my third exhibition in a row and then went on for the subsequent two years to also have watercolour paintings accepted for exhibition. My first painting accepted into this exhibition was a fall scene of the Bruce Trail in the Forks of the Credit Provincial Park titled “The Tree & The Trail”,” Madole explained.

“My CSPWC/SCPA Diploma was signed by our Patron the Governor General The Right Honourable Roméo LeBlanc and at the end of my term as CSPWC/SCPA president my President’s Diploma was signed by Her Excellency The Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean. In fact I like to say that I have my very own Doris McCarthy work of art – as she did the calligraphy on our diplomas,” said Madole.

“Although there were many special occasions, there was one event that stands out: as the CSPWC/SCPA Past President I was invited by Her Excellency The Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean to join the CSPWC’s Ottawa artists in witnessing a tree planting on the grounds of Rideau Hall by Prince Charles, Honourary Member of the CSPWC/SCPA, and the Duchess of Cornwall.”

In this gift giving season, find a gift or original art for any occasion, whether an anniversary, birthday, thank you, Christmas, or corporate long-term service award. Or give the gift of an experience – a private art workshop from an expert instructor – to someone who always wanted to try art or return to what they loved.
