Foxingham Farm Bed and Breakfast
Foxingham Farm is an historic circa 1890 farmhouse that has been recently renovated. It is bordered by the Mansfield Ski Club and the beautiful Pine River on its own 25 acres which have been designated by the Province as “the Terra Nova provincially significant wetlands.” The property boasts a variety of apple, walnut, hazelnut and almond orchards as well as butterfly gardens. This together with a series of streams, ponds, including beaver dams and forests which support a wide variety of bird and animal wildlife all of which can be viewed in their natural habitat. We are conveniently located 80 minutes north of the Toronto Airport in the rolling mills of Mulmur. The area is considered to be one of the best kept secrets but does however offer activities such as downhill/cross country skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, golf, riding, archery, cycling hunting and is within minutes of The Bruce Trail an internationally known hiking trail. Close proximity to some of Ontario’s prettiest villages Creemore, Hockley Valley and Collingwood provide an abundance of pubs, restaurants, theatres and shops as well as visits to Creemore Brewery, Dufferin County Museum, Artisans and Galleries. Breakfast menus can be hot or continental and can be prepared to suit with advance notice. As well, dietary restrictions such as gluten and lactose intolerance can be observed. Served in our country kitchen with its views of the Mansfield Ski Hill and in the summer the gardens. All our ingredients are sourced locally and from farms, such as farm fresh eggs, jams and we try to use organic ingredients when available.
Maple Grove Farm
Maple Grove Farm is family owned and operated, with three generations involved. We produce maple syrup, seasonal fruits and vegetables, farm raised beef and pork, and farm fresh eggs. We provide a wonderful U-Pick strawberry and raspberry experience for the whole family. We look forward to meeting you on the farm!
We are a working ranch, we don’t pamper, nor do we offer single file trail riding. What we do offer is a chance to explore hundreds of acres of panoramic hill country on the back of some of the finest horses east of Calgary. We ride for various reasons – every day: the cowboy work in the winter includes calving cows, tagging calves and in late spring we sort the herd matching cows with bulls for breeding purposes. To participate in some of this work you need to have considerable experience and we accommodate no more than a few guests at a time. Through the spring, summer and fall we move cattle for rotational grazing management. We are always out to check fences and service water stations. This riding is suitable for all levels. Combine it with great pleasure riding and these activities give our adventurers some real stories to take home. During the fall we pregnancy check, separate calves, remove bulls from the herd and do other herd health related work. Most is suitable for all levels. Our off ranch Cattle Drives are a true crowd pleaser – this event requires some experience and a reservation. Over the years all levels and ages of riders have enjoyed their experience here. Why not come and check us out too?
