10th Annual Fire & Ice Festival

January 20 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

| $5 – $25

Fire & Ice is a beloved Headwaters tradition every January in the Village of Alton, and this year marks the 10th Annual Festival! Rediscover the joys of the winter season and great Canadian outdoors with friends and family at the historic Alton Mill Arts Centre in rural Caledon. Highlights of the festival include a spectacular after-dusk fire sculpture by local artist Brian Oates (sponsored in 2019 by Fireball Cinnamon Whisky), food and drink, skating and curling on the Millpond, and art workshops by the Mill’s resident studio artists.

Sign-up for a game of pond hockey in support of the Millpond Rehabilitation Project, as part of the 10th Annual Alton Millpond Hockey Classic. The puck drops at 8 am, and opening ceremonies are at 11:30 am. If you’re more of a fan of the toe-pick, bring your figure skates for open ice time, after the hockey is finished. New this year, there will be lights along the Mill Pond for evening skating, to continue the fun after dusk! For hockey fans who want to continue the fun, Hot Stove Lounge tickets are available for a pub night downstairs at the Mill, featuring the Philadelphia Flyers vs. the Montreal Canadians on the big screen. Tickets for the HSL are $30, and available at Gallery Gemma Jewellery in the Mill. The pub night runs from 6:30-11pm, with dinner and a silent auction.

Admission for the Fire & Festival is Pay What You Can (PWYC). Suggested donation is $10 per adult, $5 per child, or $25 per family. Free parking and shuttle bus are offered from offsite parking lots. Activities are subject to change without notice and weather conditions may affect outdoor programming.
