Woodfield Farm

Farm | Farm Gate Sales | Farmers' Markets | On-Farm Store

Woodfield Farm is perched on 47 acres in the hills of Mulmur, in an area that boasts the highest elevations in the province. We are a small diversified farm, raising pastured poultry, Berkshire and Tamworth pigs and shepherding a flock of sheep. Seasonally, our market garden provides us with fresh delicious vegetables and herbs for our weekly markets and our newly opened farm store.

Throughout the year, our more than 15 varieties of heritage hens lay a beautiful array of colourful eggs, and you will find them wandering about the farm in their quest for bugs and grubs. In summer, the hens share the yard with our meat chickens and turkeys, all making sure nothing hiding in the grass is missed.

Our pigs spend their day in a forest where they reap the benefits of all that the forest floor has to offer, including the fall harvest of acorns, apples and walnuts. It is a rare sight to see pigs raised in a natural forest setting and the taste of Woodfield Farm pork is testament to the difference environment can make in flavour.

You will find our sheep and their young grazing the farm pastures when the grasses are plentiful and green. The heartwarming view of sheep lazing on the pasture with their lambs is rivaled only by the pastoral landscape.

Our farm store recently opened in the original 1860’s log cabin homestead. At the store we offer our own farm-raised meats along with meats from other neighbouring and area farms. We are excited to have met area producers and have their products available including local honey, maple syrup, jam, cheese, pies and preserves. This summer we will also offer baked goods to eat on the go or to take home to enjoy and if you haven’t heard, we have award winning butter tarts!

Visit us in the heart of Headwaters. Sit a spell, take in a deep breath of Mulmur, sip a locally brewed coffee, enjoy the view. Woodfield Farm awaits your visit. We look forward to meeting you.
