Janet Simmons Sweet is a full time, award winning artist, now in her 10th year at the Alton Mill Arts Centre.
Her style emulates an evolved combination of Impressionism and Romanticism, presented in oil on canvas. This evolution is best demonstrated through her annual Collection. Multiple canvases are painted with a specific technique and idea, and exhibited as one. Her emotional attachment to the subject matter, locally inspired, is evident in each artwork.
Janet exhibits throughout the year in Toronto Public Galleries, and is accepted regularly to Juried Exhibitions in the GTA. She is a member of multiple Art Organizations, and has served as a Director, Chairperson and Juror. She also installs exhibitions on behalf of independent Galleries.
Artworks can be found in Private Collections throughout North America and Europe.
You can find Janet weekends (noon to five), 12 months of the year, in Studio 204 at the Alton Mill Arts Centre located on the Shaw’s Creek, Caledon, ON.
