Just an hour’s drive northwest of Toronto, the log home and studio gallery are situated on the banks of the Nottawasaga River where Studio-Potter Al Pace masterfully creates a wide variety of functional and decorative stoneware pottery which make perfect gifts for weddings & anniversaries or as accent pieces for the home or office. Al is well-known for his bold forms and well-crafted vessels with original, high-fired stoneware glazes ranging in colour from pastel greens and browns to swirling blues & greens and deep copper reds. Al’s pottery items are stylishly displayed in the log showroom-gallery with natural light pouring in through skylight windows. Al’s work has been sought after by collector’s world-wide and has been presented to dignitaries like Queen Elizabeth II and Pope John-Paul II to commemorate Canadian visits. Prices range from $20 – $900.
The Gallery Café was opened in 2012 serving fine teas, coffee, pie and desserts and light lunches during the summer months. It is a favourite retreat for hikers who enjoy being surrounded by nature with the sound of the river filtering through the cedars. The Café hosts a popular Lecture Series each spring and fall where interesting authors, artists and musicians share their inspiring stories and creative process. The Café can be booked for private meetings or workshops. The Gallery is available for group visits on request and our hours of operation are quite flexible. Please call ahead for large groups, gallery tours or café rental (519-941-6654).
