Mr. George Cummings built the building in 1861-62 that would one day become the modern Rosemont General Store. George Cummings came to the village of Rosemont in 1857 and purchased ¼ acre parcel of land from Hugh Morrison that fronted Commercial Street (now Hwy 89). George sold the building in 1886, and since, it has gone through several owners. In 2012, Janice O’Born saved Rosemont General Store from closure, and remains its current owner. Two years later, Janice added a restaurant to the Rosemont General Store, which then became Rosemont General Store & Kitchen.
Rosemont General Store carries an array of specialty foods, housewares and products for you and your home, including Drury Tea, Laura’s Luscious Desserts, Sheldon Creek Dairy, Bridlewood Soaps, Rescue & Transform, Perth Soap Co. and much more! Rosemont’s Kitchen serves breakfast and lunch daily, and dinners on Friday and Saturday nights. Gourmet pizza and freshly baked bread are available, along with many more satisfying and delicious items. The Kitchen holds featured dinners and also offers special events, catering, and take-out.
